Michigan Family Planning Update

Purpose

The annual Family Planning Update is a networking event that provides education, training and resources to support Michigan’s Title X service delivery network. Both local and national experts will share their expertise and provide technical assistance aimed at ensuring Michigan’s network of reproductive providers are compliant with state and federal guidelines. This year’s event offers providers training and educational opportunities on current best practices in the areas of contraception, trauma informed care, meeting the reproductive healthcare needs of special populations, and important program updates.

A discounted overnight rate of $120/night (plus taxes and fees) is available for conference attendees.

Meals

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for conference attendees on both days. Attendees will be on their own for dinner.

Pre-Conference
Attendees who arrive in the afternoon the day before the full conference can join EHR table talks where they will be matched to groups of practitioners using the same EHR to discuss benefits, pitfalls, and workarounds.

Scavenger Hunt
Attendees are invited to explore the city of Midland by participating in a scavenger hunt. In collaboration with Go Great Lakes Bay, the Planning Update Planning Committee has put together hints that lead attendees to notable locations in Midland. Attendees who participate in the scavenger hunt and share photos will be able to win prizes!

Reception
There is a reception after the first full conference day, with light Hors D’oeuvres where attendees can network with each other and the MDHHS Family Planning .

We have applied for Nursing Continuing Education credits for this event.

Michigan Public Health Institute-Continuing Education Solutions (MPHI-CES) is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Louisiana State Nurses Association – Approver, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
